Traveling Eden (The long goodbye)

I am a sailor deep in your ocean's tide
Paddling my way through waves and storms
Together a pair of organisms that defied time
No landmark, nor gravity could keep us down.

It took centuries but we caught up with fate
Long ago we were lost, divided by land
Destined to be, even the tallest mountains we climbed
As we were two, the two who survived.

Our genes were no match for the rest
We searched high and low, sometimes stumbling along the way
Until at last we reached the surface that we call home

Two organisms, are one, they unite
Love's pieces fit so perfectly, there's no better match
Clumsy, fumbling, our bodies collide.
Exploring familiarity
Exploring change
Shapes are shifting
Pieces rearrange
Reinventing
Impossibilities fade
The reward, a gift from destiny
For once again finding our way
A hope, a wish, peace is granted
A world is changed
Aligning planets.
